Civil Litigation
The term litigation refers to any lawsuit that is brought before a court in order to recover a right, obtain damages, obtain an injunction, prevent injury or to obtain a declaratory judgment to prevent further legal disputes. Civil Litigation is any lawsuit that does not involve a criminal charge. The person or business that initiates the lawsuit is the plaintiff, and the individual or business who is being sued is the defendant. The general purpose of civil litigation cases is to resolve a dispute, whether it be between businesses, individuals or an individual and a business.
Employment Law
Employment law covers a complex network of laws that controls how employers must treat employees, former employees, and applicants for employment. Our Employment Law Practice Group has significant experience in interpreting and construing state and Federal statutes and case law in areas such as employment discrimination, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee benefits, whistleblower litigation, wrongful discharge, employment contracts, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, the Federal Employer's Liability Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and special laws governing municipal employment.
Estate & Trust Planning & Administration
Our firm handles Estate Planning matters which is the area dealing with the distribution of an individual's property at his or her death, taking into account wills, taxes, insurance, property, and trusts so as to gain maximum benefit of all laws and, at the same time, carrying out the person's wishes.

Attorney Taranto’s technical expertise assisted the Marblehead High School Mock Trial Team to the North East Regional Championship! This was the first time the Team reached that level in the competition and we look forward to next year’s competition.
Attorney Taranto is involved in litigation pursuing claims of fraud, breach of contract and unfair business practices against the seller of a radio station.
Attorney Bagley is a faculty member at Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education teaching evidence. Recognized as a leader in utilizing the rules of evidence, Attorney Bagley will be lecturing on cross examination techniques, direct examination of witnesses and the Massachusetts Guide to Evidence which was recently published by the Supreme Judicial Court.
On April 28, 2009, Attorney Bagley was elected Trustee of Meridian Financial Services, Inc., the parent company of East Boston Savings Bank. Founded in 1848, East Boston Savings Bank has had a long relationship with Bagley attorneys and Martha is the third generation to serve as a Trustee. Attorney Bagley also serves as a Corporator and a member of the Meridian Charitable Foundation.
